Example Plots

A sample of what you get for one pairing in one genre.

Hurt/Comfort

Characters: Lio & Ade · Genre: Hurt/Comfort

1. The Long Way Down Lio comes back from the mission wrong (quieter, flinching at nothing) and insists nothing happened. Ade is the only one who notices, and the only one stubborn enough to stay when Lio tries to push them out. The fic is the slow work of one person letting another back in.

Slow Burn

Characters: Lio & Ade · Genre: Slow Burn

1. Adjacent Lio and Ade are assigned as partners and are immediately, quietly terrible at it: too similar, too proud. Over a year of cases they stop competing and start covering for each other, and by the time anyone says the word "feelings" it’s embarrassingly overdue.
How it works

How it Works

Give it your characters and a genre; it does the brainstorming.

1

Add Your Characters

Enter the characters the fic is about. Add the fandom too if you want the plot grounded in that world.

2

Pick a Genre

Romance, angst, hurt/comfort, adventure, slow burn, or whatever you’re in the mood to write.

3

Generate

Get plot ideas with working titles and a hook each. Take the one that grabs you and start an outline.

Use cases

Use Cases

For the part of writing that happens before the writing.

Beat Writer’s Block

When the blank document wins, a few premises with hooks can get you moving again.

Fic Exchanges & Big Bangs

Generate options for a prompt, a pinch hit, or a bang you signed up for and now have to deliver.

Roleplay Arcs

Use a plot idea as the spine of a longer roleplay instead of a one-off scene.

Try a New Pairing

From Idea to Fic

What makes a plot, not just a premise

A premise is a situation; a plot is a situation with a problem in it. "Two rivals are stuck on a road trip" is a premise. "Two rivals are stuck on a road trip, and one of them is secretly delivering the news that will end the other’s career" is a plot, because now something has to give. Each idea here comes with that hook built in so you’re not just describing a setup.

Tips for using a generated plot

Treat the output as a seed, not a script:

  • Keep the hook, change the details until it feels like yours.
  • Generate a single detailed idea when you want depth, or several when you’re still browsing.
  • Add a trope or a setting in the details box to steer toward what you actually want to write.

Plots, prompts, and AUs

A fanfic plot is the full arc of a story. If you want smaller, scene-sized romantic moments instead, use the OTP Prompt Generator. If you want to move the whole thing into a new setting, run it through the AU Generator first, then come back here for the plot.
